About us

Management Advisory Service [MAS] provides no-fee management consulting advice to nonprofit organizations in the Toronto area. We are a group of volunteer consultants with extensive experience in management, professional and technical areas in both the private and public sectors. We are only available to nonprofits with social goals, i.e., not to those that have commercial aims.

MAS has been providing assistance to nonprofit groups in the Toronto area since 1993. We have helped close to 1,000 organizations. Clients range in size from organizations of 2 to 3 people in church basements to the major, high profile social service agencies.

Evaluations show that clients are very pleased with the work our volunteer consultants do, and would recommend us to others. Our extensive repeat business, from clients who return with a request for help, often in another area of their operations, also indicates a high degree of satisfaction.

Our association of volunteer consultants has a wide range of skills, experience and know-how, so we can match almost any nonprofit agency with the right volunteer for its specific needs. These cover a broad range of management, professional and technical skills including Information Management, Finance and Accounting, Marketing and Communications, Planning, Governance, Human Resources and Organization, Facilitation and Mentoring. In the rare cases where we don’t think we have the right skills to help, we’ll tell you.

Because MAS charges no fees for its consulting services, we depend on donations to cover our operating expenses. We ask that clients which are financially able to do so and which are satisfied with our services at the end of a project to consider giving MAS a donation..
